Notecard Confessional
For this project we had to create a Notecard Confessional. To stick around my content area, I created one on the use of the Oxford Comma, and how for a brief period in my life I didn't use it on account of I was a part of a student newspaper, and the Oxford Comma isn't used generally in journalistic settings. To create it I used large notecards and markers, and the candle I used was a Gold Canyon Candle Co. - Ginger Lime. To take the video I just used the camera on my iPhone, and then imported it into iMovie where I then trimmed it slightly and added music that I already had on my phone. The text at the end of the video was made in Canva on my iPhone as well.
In terms of use in a classroom, I think the idea of utilizing this to get into the mind of a character in a book or possibly an author is good, but I'm not totally sure if I would use it in my personal classroom. To get the same effect, I think I would rather have students take the roles of characters from a book and in a Socratic-style discussion work through the themes present in the novel or of the historical period in which it's set. Though, if my students did seem interested in a Notecard Confessional, it would be something I could do to achieve that same idea.
